In last months newsletter, I reflected on a hike up to the waterfall in the Matatiele nature reserve, which I enjoyed with some mates. We had so much fun, that I could not help but do it again in 2017 with more of my mates. In my short journey of life, I have discovered that the more people we bring along our journey of life, the more we learn and the more enjoyable it becomes. Upon reflection, I have also realised that I've come across a number of wonderful people, and have learn't different things from diverse people. However, The catch is to be able to perceive and receive the positive things from all, instead of focusing on the negative. On this second trip, we did not go up the river, but scaled the mountainous terrain. Another important discovery I've made on my journey is that, we do not need to keep on the same route that we've always been on. We are not birds, which have to follow the same migration patterns year after year, we  can take a new route if we decide to. We can change our location if we please; we are not trees. However we may need a little help from our more experienced friends in order to realise this.

So as we charted our course up the steep terrain, one of my mates was really struggling to keep apace and was beginning to give up. At first we encouraged her and she kept on going for a while, then started to despair again. I then realised that perhaps she needed a hand, so I went back down, took her by the hand and led her up the trail and eventually we all made it up to the plateau together, with much jubilation of-course. Its amazing how our personal lives relate to many things that we do in the other areas of our lives. Many times I have felt like giving up on my journey at IPPM, but thank God for all those friends and acquaintances who  were there to give me a hand up. Thus, I have come to understand that, now and then I should change my approach if things seem not to be working or seek help instead of  despairing or giving up.

Change is an inevitable part of life, and if we refuse to change in the critical parts of life, change may be rudely be forced upon us. I am now learning to change voluntarily. The fact of the matter is that, it's never too late or too early to be whoever you want to be. There is no limit, you can stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, you can make the best or worst of it; I hope you make the best of it. I hope you you're brave enough to go against the grain, to make that seemingly fearful decision that could turn everything around for the better. I hope you see things that startle you, I hope you feel things you never felt before, I hope you meet people with a different point of view, I hope you live a life you enjoy and are proud of. And if you find that you are not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.
